About Patrick T. Noble

I've spent 27 years designing software for people doing demanding work: bankers rating credit risk, benefits agents answering members on live calls, clinicians and care coordinators, engineers building developer tools, truck drivers, and now sports fans. In several of those organizations design was new. I started by listening to users, put research and prototypes in front of the teams building the product, and let the results make the case.

Where I've worked

Most recently I was Associate Director of UX at Broadcom and Moody's Analytics, where I led and mentored designers while staying hands-on. Before that I worked at Humana, Volvo Trucks, First Citizens Bank, Optum, NASDAQ, Thomson Reuters, Fidelity Investments, IBM and Harvard University.

How I use AI

I use Claude and Gemini every day to research, specify and build faster, and I review every decision myself.

Outside work

Outside work, I've been an usher at UNC for about five years, which is where Usher's Toolkit began. I'm based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and studied at Boston University.
